Virtual teaching on Zoom during Covid times.
Do you feel resistance to new things, new possibilities? I think many people do. The thing about resistance is it doesn't feel good and it feeds itself, so its a downward spiral.
A choice we can make is to surrender. Surrender is not giving in or giving up, it is more about getting in flow which always feels fantastic. Can you close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and just allow any resistance to melt away? And can you feel that by surrendering your world opens up to new possibilities? Having clients on Zoom has been a blessing once I got past my own virtual resistance. We limit ourselves. Let's stop.
At the square in Sonoma, showcasing the Gyrotonic® Method of Movement. So many people feel constricted and tight in their bodies. The movements of Gyrotonic®, similar to Qigong, expands the body, opens joints and moves energy, leaving clients feeling more upright and expansive, open, strong, and light.
Looking for transformation? Road trip! All of our lives are a special kind of road trip. Learning, growing, experiencing and discovering what we truly want and what we definitely don't want. My journey enabled me to acquire the tools I teach now to live an unshakeable joyful life.
2013 in my studio teaching The Gyrotonic ® Method and Gyrokenisis. Teaching movement is not my first career and hasn't been my last. Years ago people had one career their entire lives. Life is forever changing so wouldn't it make sense to make changes along with it; to flow with the river of life. Do you love your life? Are you happy or do you feel stuck? What would you do if you could do anything you want?
When I feel stuck in any aspect of life I always start with movement of the physical body. Did you know that our life is often a representation of our physical body? What does your body say about you?
My City Oasis vacation rental coming in to being! I want you to truly get that you can make changes, big changes in your life and come out the other side happier than ever. Working to re-pattern the neck and hips to reduce pain in my clients body.
During Covid I expanded my movement teachings to include Gravity Yoga, got certified and added it to my repertoire. Moon squats, similar to the arch and curl in Gyrotonic or the Spinal Cord breathing of Qigong has you expanding and taking in and reserving vital energy.
Moon squats also strengthen the legs at the same time as creating space and flexibility in the spine. Bringing in the energy from the Universe and storing it in the body. An invigorating way to wake up the body before your ultimate practice.
Thailand 2014 completing my Yoga certification with truly one of the greatest teachers out there. Shy Sayar. Coming soon...Link to an interview with Shy where we discuss Yoga, beyond the physical body.
A client preparing for harvesting a part of the Gyrotonic® arm sequence allowing a flow between the energy centers from power on up to wisdom. It's a giving and a receiving of vital energy. Most of the movements have a cool way of correlating to life, so I love that we can move our bodies and the physical changes also manifest themselves in to other aspects of life.
How we are in one area of life is usually how we are in all areas. What a powerful awareness and tool.
I climbed this telepole in Fiji and took a leap of faith. A lesson in 2014 during Life Mastery with Tony Robbins, that I'll never forget.
The purpose of this exercise wasn't clear to me until I got to the top. I watched all those who went before me. Some struggled to climb to the top, others with pulling themselves up on top, and I wondered what it was going to be like for me? Much to my surprise the climb was easy, pulling myself up was easy, the leap off was very very difficult; the letting go. When I landed I made the correlation to my life and recognized instantly how I was holding on to a life that was clearly over and it was time; time to let go.
Do you understand the value of laughter? When you have a friend in your life that you laugh a whole lot with, keep them around! Even if you never really thought much of it, you can't deny how good it feels to laugh. One of the first lessons I begin with for transformation is looking at what you love, and who you love, and simply doing more of that. It's always a great start.
Do you like the contrasts in life? Do you notice them? Good and bad, sadness and joy, energized vs. depressed, light and dark, rich and poor. It has been said by many a spiritual teacher that to understand what you desire it is necessary to know its opposite. When we experience something we don't like we create a desire of what we want and that's part of the manifestation process. So embrace the contrast and create from it. This photo is one of my pieces that I call "Fire and Ice". Showcasing contrast.
A client with a frozen shoulder. The equipment supports the muscles while you engage in the movements and openings. It also gives biofeedback to the body. It's a brilliant and useful method to body work.
Sometimes you just need to be silly! Please be silly today. Just once. Alone or with others. Doesn't matter. Simply sink into silly.
